Adaptive living

Learning how to alter your environment will help you adjust to low vision. Adding additional light - both direct for specific tasks such as reading and writing and room lighting for greater safety - and eliminating glare are simple adjustments that can make a big difference in how well you see.

Get organized! If keys, money, medications, etc. are always in the same place, they will be easier to retrieve. Adaptations to everyday items such as large print or talking products, and using contrasting colors and tactile markings to better distinguish objects make it easier for people with vision loss to live independently.
